Electric Window And Sunroof

My electric windows and sunroof are misbehaving. The drivers window will no longer auto close when you hold the close button and then let go. Passenger side is fine.

 

Added to this the sunroof will not autoclose on the key. The windows (inc driver side) do.

 

They were all working fine a few weeks ago, so something somewhere has gone phut.

 

I'm hoping someone else has had this and knows exactly which thingymebob in the whatsit I need to change/repair !!!! :unsure:

First check the wiring loom between door and "A"-post for breaks in one or more wires.

Now been through the wiring carefully and I can find no breaks.

Its not just physical breaks in the cables but the inner cores! check the cables for continuity, if there are ok try a new switch

my sunroof no longer opens from the key/remote but will close, so I cant be asked to find out why

A tip when trying to find a wire that has a broken core- pulling on each wire in turn will help identify which one is broken. The wire with a broken core will stretch like elastic where the break is. This works best if you can do it somewhere warm so the plastic is soft.
