Guest stevebm1 Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 glad to hear it,obviosly some of the people earlier in this post have never done anything to break a copyright law in there life, never copied a cd,never seen a pirate video/dvd etc.etc............GET A LIFE  Quote
Guest MyPerfectVehicle Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 well said!.I agree people should practise what they preach! Quote
Masked Marauder Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 There are many, many legitimate uses for this software. Not all radios with no code are stolen. I have bought more than one car with an aftermarket radio with no code. No OVM is going to help with that at any price. The guy I got the program from gets radios from scrap cars he takes to the yard. Thats why Jason wanted it. (Thats spooky the recovery guy I got it from is called Jason!) Before getting my Bammer (which came with an aftermarket radio and no code) I was, and still am, a Vauxhall enthusiast. Many of the radios in older Vauxhalls you can't get codes for, they are deleted. If you can it costs Quote
Richmond Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 For the avoidance of doubt, I have not suggested that copyright laws should be respected. I just thought that you might want to know what they are. If you're going to break the law, you might as well know what it is. Quote
MatTdi Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Please could you send me a copy of the software if its not too late  I had no manuals or radio code with my bus and the lease company are not forthcoming at all. so this will save me the grief of the dreaded dealers. matt@fixed-it.com Thanks in advance M@ Quote
widget Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Hi, could someone mail me a copy? I had to replace the battery (see other thread) and as yet have been unable to locate the radio code from the previous owner! thanks a million Graham graham.dobson@orange.net Quote
AMacdonald Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I bought my Alhambra (ford stereo) from a Ford dealer nearly three years ago and asked for the stereo code then. He kept on promising to supply it until I stopped asking about a year ago. The thing is, he'd obviously got it for himself since the thing had been serviced several times. He was never able to give it to me though. Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 do you still need the code?,if you do email me! Quote
Guest MalcIOW Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I am a new owner with no code to the radio in the Galaxy I have just bought. I would be grateful if I could have the code generator.Thank youMalcolm  2004mds@lineone.net Quote
GSMGuy Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Hi all.. Any chance of this?? No sounds in my Gal since I fitted the cruise, as didn't realise I didn't have the code in the pack.. The prev owner (lease Co) aren't interested... And to top it all, the bro in law had an attempted theft of his Modeo Ghia last night.. They got disturbed and left the stereo on his lawn... Plugged it back in and all fine, but no code for him either... Much appreciated! Email... gsmguy@gmail.com Cheers Mike Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 I am not sure it is wise to send anyone who asks a copy of the code cracking software - look at my thread 'Stolen Ford Stereos' in the ICE forum  Quote
GSMGuy Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Gadgetoid - not sure it is wise to make such posts before knowing all the facts... Especially with only 5 posts "on the clock" so to speak.... Mike Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 It's common sense regardless of how many postsFord radios are now being stolen more frequently precisely because this software is in circulation. Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Gadgetoid - not sure it is wise to make such posts before knowing all the facts... Especially with only 5 posts "on the clock" so to speak.... Aaaah... I have just realised why you are irritated....you think you are less likely to be sent the link or program as a consequence of my comment. I do apologise. Us new oiks really ought to learn to be quiet when the prefects are speaking  I would argue that if we circulate the code cracker programme to people we have never met or even seen then we are more likely to return to our cars to find a smashed window and the stereo gone  . Likely to cost more in increased insurance premiums than the (admittedly outrageous) Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Though of course you could say that anyone with posts in double figures has a real interest in this site and is likely to be a good guy. Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Though on reflection even double figures seems to be rather easy to achieve  I might trust Ivor E Tower or Fredt ...but Ivor would have calculated his code already by clever use of wooden sticks  Quote
GSMGuy Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Tsk tsk tsk... lol... And Ivor would use the EDIT button rather than reposting to bump up his count lol... Mike Quote
johnb80 Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 It would seem to me a simple problem to solve. Ford dealers should make no charge for providing the code when you turn up with the vehicle, logbook and proof of ID. No-one would have any just cause for having the software, we could all sleep easy in our beds knowing that no-one could use our stolen radio. Regards - JBP.S. Yes I do have a code cracker, yes it works well and I can fully appreciate or useful to the lowlifer's it would be. Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I agree with johnb80. In fact that is exactly what the local dealer did, though they didn't bother with proof of ownership or ID - might have had something to do with the fact I sent my wife to ask when she was 8 months pregnant :o !Another child would cost a bit more than Quote
ridway Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I lost the code after swopping the battery to get the wife's car started. Phoned the dealer to tell him the prob and he asked for the model, year etc and telephoned me back half hour later with the code - very nice chap- thank you Rich Quote
Guest fredt Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 I might trust Ivor E Tower or Fredt It's nice to know I'm sort of trustworthy! now where do you keep the spare door key? and the er.... best silvers stashed where exactly? Quote
Gadgetoid Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Common sense again.Anyone who obviously spends so much time driving, tinkering, posting on this forum and being a general petrolhead (or is that a head full of gas  ) will have no time to be prowling the dark streets looking for a stereo from 'car park spares' :D Do people still keep silver? I thought most valuables were silicon based these days :D Quote
MrT Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Most Ford owners could also help prevent the theft of their radios by not leaving the removable key pad in it. Yes these are available on ebay, but its a lot more effort to have to get one of these after you have nicked a radio to make it saleable. If I remember correctly the early car radios that first had removable panels were also coded such that only the matching coded panel and main unit would work together, so if you needed a new panel, you had to have it and the radio recoded together at a dealer. With the Ford, any panel works in any radio. Quote
