Dieselalhambra Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 :( MY S REG 110 TDI STARTS WITH ONE OR TWO ENGINE CRANK OVERS WHEN IT IS COLD. BUT RECENTLY AFTER A RUN WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT, WHEN YOU GO TO RESTART ENGINE , IT IS CRANKING ABOUT EIGHT TO TEN TIMES BEFORE FIRING. IT IS RUNNING OK , SO I KNOW IT IS ONLY A START UP ISSUE. COULD IT BE ANYTHING TO DO WITH GLOW PLUGS ? OR HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM , AS I FEEL IT GOING TO LET ME DOWN SOON WHEN STARTING FROM HOT. Quote
Andrew T Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 If it was you're glowplugs then you would have problems with cold starting, not hot. My best guess is that you maybe have an air leak into the fuel system that is only there when the car is hot. :( Quote
Masked Marauder Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 The glow plugs will still come on on the low setting for about 30 seconds even if the engine is warmed up. I once had to run an engine with only two glow-plugs and even fully warmed it was a bitch to start. Quote
