Guest stevebm1 Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 hi,does anyone know where I can get one of these T pieces?any websites online, even though it came off a galaxy it has VW wrote on it(surprise, surprise). Quote
Guest fredt Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Half the connectors on mine are copper pipe fittings! the hoses were cut 'n' shut for the lpg conversion and they have held up for the past five years ok :D you should be able to make one up from copper pipeing parts? on my Golf GTI there is a blanking plug in one of the main coolant hoses off the water pump, when the hose finally perished and blew, the blanking plug went off down the road never to be seen again :D when I got the replacement hose from the dealers I didnt know I needed the blanking plug! and on a sunday afternoon its not possible to get the correct one, so I stuck a spare wheel nut off another car in the hole and clamped it in place with a jubilee clip :D it's still there six years later :D even though it came off a galaxy it has VW wrote on it (surprise, surprise). most parts do! I even advised a couple of people on a VW VR6 forum to use there local Ford dealers for engine parts as they are a lot cheaper than VW for parts! I just replaced the plug lead guides/engine cover across the back of the engine and coil pack, the parts have VW codes moulded into them and VW stickers on them as well as the Ford part number stickers plus they come in a Ford bag :D after all it is a VW at heart! :D thats one of the reasons I went for the VR6 :D Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 just checked with my local ford dealer, and get this>>>>>>>>>THEY DON'T DO THIS PART AS A REPLACEMENT,THEY HAVE NO PART NUMBER TO ORDER IT!.Ive checked the etka cd,and by the looks of things as much as I hate to admit it,there right these t pieces have no part number!,how stupid is that? :D Quote
seatkid Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Isnt the no on it the VW part no? 701819876Try SEAT as well as VW Quote
djacks42 Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 If you are still struggling to find a replacement, it might be worth having a go at a repair? The liquid-metal products available these days can be used for cracked sumps, pump brackets etc. Should be ok for a bit of pipe. Failing that, pop down Plumbers R Us. Quote

I get most of my parts from them, I find its best to remove them yourself and haggle over the price! dont go into the office and ask for a particular part, just give a rough idea of what your looking for and ask if it's ok if you go look and see if they have any, that way you deal with the boss man in the yard and can haggle! he's usually good for a laugh and will deal for cash ;) Quote
paulmpaciorek Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Dunno about you guys, but I think theres something about rumaging around a scrappy..........must be a man thing as "er indoors" cant see the fascination. Many a satisfying Sunday morning spent amongst the old relics (and I dont mean lunch at the in-laws) ;) Quote
Guest stevebm1 Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 I totally agree,it's amazing what you find in old cars,I found 20 quid once in pound coins under the seats of one car,the part I got only cost me a fiver,so I was still 15 pound up! Quote
