Guest javito Posted September 15, 2004 Report Posted September 15, 2004 Hello all the world! I have a little problem. I installed a 6000CD RDS EON Car Radio in my ford Galaxy and i introduce the keycode and the radio reboot itself. I put the battery cable and ignition cable to the battery and switch on the ground, only this to prove the radio. Anyone have an idea of why the radio reboot itself when i put the keycode? Thanks! Guest georgeathoburne Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 Hi Javito, Not sure what exactly you mean when you say that the Radio re-boots itself, unless you are not entering the code in the correct manner. which doesn't enable the radio receiver to power up.. After the radio has been disconnected from power, you will obviously need to enter the keycode to activate it again. When you re-connect the supply loom and switch on the radio, the display on the RDS 6000 shows the flashing word Code or Enter Code . This is when you enter the four digit code using the preset keys 1 - 4 Tap the Preset 1 key until the first number of the keycode is in the display then do the same for the other three digits using preset key 2 for the second digit and so-on.... and finally press key 5 to enter the numbers. If this is done correctly, the radio will immediately power up, and you will be able to use it.... Beware though... inputting incorrect keycode up to 10 times causes complete lockout and this needs Ford intervention unless you know someone who knows how to clear the codes. Best wishesGeorge Quote
