Guest Andyb Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Just had a phone call from the wife saying when she parks up and gets out she can hear a loud noise from under the car this is when the car is not running. I think it could be the fuel pump it is coming from under the rear seat on the passenger side anyone else had this problem. Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Could it be the passenger compartment heater in the rear wing still blowing to cool the heater ? Quote
Guest Andyb Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I dont know is this unit under the car and it as only started doing it today ? i have Rang my local ford place and they said they can have a quick look at 14.30 today. Quote
johnb80 Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 More likely to be the aux heater which is used to help the engine warm up when the temp is less than 12 deg C. Sound a little bit like a Jet Turbine running down. Regards - JB Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Agreed - not yet got down to 12 deg C where I am  Quote
Guest Andyb Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 Well she as just rang me again to say she just went out and it did not do it ? but i am still going to the garage i want them to check out the gearbox so will have to book it in Quote
Guest Andyb Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 The ford chap said it was the engine warmer also he said you get smoke coming out sometimes  The gearbox he said seems ok they are not smooth he said but it did not crunch on him so its hard to show them when it does do it just hope it goes before the warranty runs out.
