Nige F Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Does anyone know how to change the plastic covers on the backs of 3rd row of seats and are they readily available from Fraud??. Have broken 2 and I am looking to change the car and would like to get them sorted. Thanks Quote
suzuki91 Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 on my 98 model they pull off from the top first, then unhook from the bottom.the top is held on by the same plastic lugs that hold lots of the trim on. Quote
Guest fredt Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 IIRC the later type replacement seat backs are secured by a screw hidden under a blanking plug where they used to clip on although it still hooks onto the seat frame at the bottom if you selling it could you not secure the seat back with a home made fixing? bit of bent mechano or such like or ask Ivor to pop round Quote
djacks42 Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 The originals on mine are the clip type and one of these had already been replaced by the later screw type (requires a retrofit rivnut or stick or a little bit of wood in the holes). Little covers are ordered seperately. However, on recently ordering another replacement, I got one of the original clip types which are a PITA to fit. You -will- break at least one of the clips trying to locate them so make sure you have a spare to hand. It also greatly helps if you snip the seat back fabric which otherwise stops you pushing the tray for full clip location. Quote
