Denis Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 When I bought my Gal from Ford Direct it had 7,000 miles on the clock and the dealer stamped the service book to confirm a service had been carried out, even though it wasn't really due yet. They said the next service wouldn't be due until 17,000 miles. I don't mean to be cynical but it is possible that the dealer could have 'forgotten' to do the service and just stamped the book. When I picked the car up, the dashboard was saying something about 'service due' though it hadn't done that during the test drive. I am now on 14,000 miles and the engine oil looks a deep orange colour. Just wondering if it would be sensible to pay to have an interim oil change done, just in case? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 Wouldn't worry about the "service due" indicator - many dealers forget to reset it when they've done the service (or they don't know hpw to do it). If you think they forgot to do the service, just get the next one done early :D If the oil is orange, maybe they used anti-freeze instead of oil :D Quote
Dave-G Posted September 5, 2004 Report Posted September 5, 2004 :D It's oil Jim,but not as we know it :D :D I used to have an orange phone but N'er heard of orange oil.....praps its oxidised? :D Quote
seatkid Posted September 6, 2004 Report Posted September 6, 2004 I've noticed that the oil on my new Skoda Fabia :D has turned somewhat orangey after 2500 miles (from new) and was thinking the same - what the....?? Quote
