I have just replaced my battery and the radio display reads "potless mate"

 

How do I reset the radio

 

I have asked this before and Fred gave me the answer, but I cannot remember how to do it, or find it in the search ;)

IIRC its a 2007, on this unit you use the station preset buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4 to load in the code, after switching on the radio you should see either a series of dashes, 'code' or in your case potless mate ;) on the display, if you press select then either the word code or a set of dashes should flash up? you then need to press button 1 till the correct numbers appears on the display, then repeat with buttons 3, 4 and 5, with the correct code on the display press select and that should be that! a working radio?

the potless mate is someones idea of a joke ;) you can load a sixteen digit message on the display that flashes up after the radio is powered up say after the battery has been disconnected or its been stolen! the idea is to load the vehicles registration number into the radio to aid its return to you if found by the police

if you want I can dig out the instructions of how to program in your own message or registration number?

Right here goes, programming in your registration number so the police can return it to you!

 

turn the radio on

 

press and hold the select button and then (within two seconds) press button 1

the audio will mute and the word code will flash up on the display

enter ther the code

 

ENTRY OF THE WRONG CODE WILL LOCK YOU OUT FOR 30 MINUTES, THEN YOU YOU TRY AGAIN TO ENTER THE CORRECT CODE, ENTER THE CODE WRONG TEN TIMES AND THE UNIT WILL HAVE TO BE POWERED DOWN AND THE CORECT CODE ENTERED BEFORE YOU CAN TRY AGAIN

 

with the correct code entered, the display will show AAAAAAAA, for the first 8 digits and -------- for the remaining digits or the registration number (or possibly in your case pottless mate?)

 

the first digit should be flashing, use the volume control (+ -) to set the digit to one of your choice (A-Z. 0-9,- or space)

 

use the seek control (>) to move to the next digit (<) selects the previous digit

the digit selected will flash

 

when you have programmed in your registration number, press select to enter it into the units memory

 

the display will return to radio mode and the unit should work?

 

if at any time you wish escape from the programming mode switch the unit off or stick in a cassette

 

to check the number entered correctly press and and hold select then button 2, the display should show the registration number or code you entered, with the buttons held the registration number should scroll across the display
