Has anyone any experience of using Ecotek Powerboost on a Galaxy?

Is this the spray foam intake manifold cleaner? the one you spray into the air intake and it expands and cleans all the gunk off the intake system! a bit like the Mr Muscle drain cleaner :D my only worry would be where does all the crap its cleaned off go? and will it do more harm than good to have the crap floating free around the intake system?

that's the stuff. According to what I've read it seems like all the waste is burnt up but as you say, will that do damage.

There is an article on this product in the CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association) magazine this month. Highish milage members cars were tested before and after treatment and all showed an improvemt in power, torque and emmissions. The exception was a car with a overhauled cylinder head which only showed an improvement in emmisions.

If it does blow all the cr@p out of the engine, what does it do the catalyst in the long term ?

Years ago I remember a mechanic friend recommded pouring used brake fluid into the carb' as a poor-mans alternative to a decoke, is this the modern high tech alternative ?

Hell's teeth! Brake fluid would be a pretty good alternative to a rebore and removal of the piston rings, I should think.
