wheeler Posted August 29, 2004 Author Report Posted August 29, 2004 Many thanks for the part number. I have now ordered it and am looking forward to taking advantage of the many options it gives. Can you help with the wiring loom for the CD changer. Found the wire in the back but after taking the head unit out I cannot find the other end for connection to the head unit. Quote
Dally Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 wheeler With regards to fitting a cd changer, you need to be aware that the factory fit sat nav in the galaxy is a VW unit (RNS4). If you wish to fit an OEM changer then you will have to purchase a VW/Audi one and they have a loom that is different from the Ford loom (the ford loom is only compatibale with the visteon version for the ford head units). I am not sure whether the loom you have in you galaxy is a ford one or the VW one. As an alternative, you could fit a non OEM changer eg sony. But to do this, you will need to buy an interface box that will fit in the back of your sat nav unit. In your case this will need to be a VW to sony converter (that is if you want to fit a sony changer) and you will then have to pass a sony loom from the converter box to the changer. In my previous galaxy, I had a ford 6000 unit and no changer but the ford loom was there. I decided to fit a sony changer because it was better then the visteon units. The converter interface (made by connects2) cost Quote
