Flashing Climate Control Display

hi just worked out the reason for my climate display to flash upon first starting the car.

Because the display did'nt flash everytime and the a/c all seems to be working fine ,and the fact ford wanted fifty quid to read the codes, i pulled the display cover off a few times and discovered the small fan that sits on the circuit board was not allways running ie the display flashes when it stops running. have given it a spray up and hopefully cured it for now.

if it still keeps happening does anyone know if the fan can just be replaced or is a complete head unit required?can you buy them anywhere except ford?

one to check guys before you go to the main dealer.
