What Bulb Types Does Newer Model Use?

Can anyone tell confirm the type of bulbs (not HID) used in the facelifted Galaxy?

 

 

Dipped beam = H7

Main = H1

Sidelight = Wedgey shaped but number?

Foglight = H7

Front indicator = ?

Can confirm it's just as you say, but also don't know about the front indicators. The rears are orange-coloured 21watt bayonet fitting. Bought a spare set of bulbs 2 weeks ago, you see, but I have some leftovers from before.

I wonder why the headlights seem so much more effective in the facelifeted versions. Higher Wattage bulbs? If so why weren't they fitted to the older models?

side light is W5W and front indicator is PY21W and side indicators are BU501S iirc

I think its down to the lens of the headlight facelift is just clear & smooth were as the pre facelift models have the distorted lense like a bathroom window for example.

The newer model dipped beam [for example] does'nt also need to be able to offer a reasonable main beam performance

 

each beam is optimised for a single purpose rather than a compromise 'tween em both ?

 

I would imagine the lense also helps
