Water Drops In Passenger Footwell (lhd)

Hi,

 

Just came back from holiday in Italy !

 

When driving long stretches my wife felt cold drops of water falling from underneath the dash onto her feet.

 

It only seems to happen while towing the caravan and only a drop about every 10 minutes.

 

I think it maybe condensation somewhere underneath the dash in comination with the higher engine temp.

 

Anyone had the same problem ?

Did you have the air con on? it could be condensation off the evaporator finding its way into the cabin! the drain for the evaporator/heater matrix could be blocked and the water droplets on your good ladies feet are spray from the drip tray as it fills up! IIRC the drain is in the engine bay, low down on the passenger side of the fire wall. its a little black rubber spout, the spout is cross shaped IIRC?

Air con was on ! But I find water under the car after a long drive with aircon, so it looks like the drain isn't blocked or at least not completely.

 

I hope it's just condensation.

 

I'll still have a look under the bonnet though.
