rwtomkins Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 It hardly qualififes as a problem but when I start up the car, all the warning lights on the instrument panel go out except the one warning that there's a malfunctioning bulb in one of the lamp clusters. This stays on until I press the brake pedal, at which point it goes out and stays out. Anyone else had this? A while ago I got a low fuel level alert even thought there was plenty of diesel in the tank. I'm thinking I should ask the dealer to change the instrument cluster under warranty. Quote

rwtomkins Posted August 9, 2004 Author Report Posted August 9, 2004 Really? So it's me that's misbehaving. I swear I never noticed this before. Can anyone else say if their instrument panel does this? Quote
MrT Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 You should also have the automatic selector light staying on until you press the brake pedal. This will go out when you press the pedal and will come on again several seconds later if you do not move the gear out of park. This looks like a green circle with a foot in it. Quote
galantlad Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 lamp failure warning light stays on untill you press brake pedal so it checks brake light bulbs Quote
NikpV Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Lamps appear to be normal, but the low fuel gauge problem is still waiting for a fix, at least it was the last time we asked the local ford dealer (they tried two different clusters before Ford said that they were working on the fix) Quote
