Guest Paul Collins Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 I'm not sore about the gal, but most auto's have an ignition inhibit switch to prevent starting when in gear. Sounds like it's a bit touchy. Paul Quote

Can anyone please advise? dipso, you don't say what year your car is but I had this problem on my T reg auto and the cure was to adjust the inhibitor sensor- i think it is an optical sensor rather than a switch. If you remove the cowling over the gear selector you will see a small screw sealed with an orange thread sealing compound. Careful adjustment- one or two turns was all it took on mine. Quote
dipsomaniac Posted August 3, 2004 Author Report Posted August 3, 2004 Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I could have the same problem Denis with my 1998 model. Will attempt the adjustment and let you know. Quote
