Problem Selecting Reverse Gear (manual)

I have a 2001 manual Galaxy.

 

Recently I have been unable to select reverse gear on a number of occassions.

 

My dealer has been told about the problem several times but he cannot see a problem.

 

My vehicle is about to come out of warrentry and I am worried this might be a serious gear box problem! :D

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "unable"? Lever will not move across to the required plane, or funny grinding noises that discourage you from moving it any further? (or something else)

The gear leaver moves over but will not move back into the reverse position.

This happens only sometimes. No crunching. (6 speed gearbox)
