flames7607 Posted April 14, 2019 Report Posted April 14, 2019 Hi Everyone, My 2003 Galaxy 1.9tdi has been suffering a parasitic battery drain. It will go flat from fully charged in 2 days. I have traced the drain to the pink fuse in the engine compartment that is labeled "Alarm, multifunction modules". Removing it reduces battery drain to next to nothing. I also have the dreaded centre locking issue (intermittent ground fault) Could the two be connected ? i.e. is the centre locking system draining the battery whilst the car is locked because it's grounding out, and the removal of the pink fuse stops this ? Any help gratefully received Cheers Quote
BrianH Posted April 15, 2019 Report Posted April 15, 2019 Almost certainly yes, Would suspect that either you have the usual broken wires problem in a door somewhere (including the tailgate) or a dodgy central locking motor causing issues. It might help to unplug the doors (the plug that goes into the door pillar will rotate to allow removal) and see if that reduces your battery drain to try and locate the fault. Though probabbly a good idea to go round all the doors and repair any broken wires. Quote
