Hello

I’m about to order discs and pads for the rear of my 1.9tdi 2005 Sharan

Could anyone tell me if there is likely to be more than one size disc like that front which come in 288 or 300mm please.

It’s ok I got a garage to do them in the end £115 discs and pads supply and fit. Only issue is that on one side half the disc is rusty, obviously the pad isn’t touching the whole diameter of the disc, any ideas why??

Could be pads tight in the caliper carrier, probably due to not cleaning the carriers up sufficiently, or possible siezed caliper slider/s.

To be honest, whoever fitted the pads/discs should have spotted either issue. Take it back and point it out to them.

If there the pads I think they are, there are two springs that press against the caliper. I'd guess one end of either spring isn't located properly hence the pad doesn't sit in the right place (I've seen them end up with a step on the edge of the pad where it misses the disc entirely!).

But given you paid someone to do it, as Paul says above take it back to them and ask them to sort it!
