 Hi all.

Picked up my Galaxy on Saturday and have to say I love it, so here goes "I love it" (had to say that!)

I have three questions though. It's a 2000(W) 1.9 TDI Zetec (115 or 110 I'm not sure!)

1. The round tax disk holder has a wire going into it from the dash and what look like elements on the back. What are these for, is it to do with the heated windscreen or does it just keep the tax warm?

2. I've been fitting the mud flaps. The rear ones are a breeze! Take off the wheel, screw them on, no problems. But how in gods name do you get the clips on the front ones to stay on? The top ones fine the others just won

Hi Bones,

this is just an answer to one of your questions!!, and is possibly incorrect, I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction!, the reason for the flat spots in the power could be due to turbo lag!!, the reason for the lag is that the turbo is driven of the exhaust gases from the piston and so needs the exhaust gas to drive it and thus suck in more air!!, the flat spot could just be where the turbo is lagging slightly. But then again this could be due to a number of other problems!, you might need to be a little more specific for others to help!, i.e at what ranges does it have the flat spot etc!!. But at a quick guess I'd say turbo lag is your answer!!!. If not then I'm sorry ofr the false information I've just given you....lol.

Hope all your other questions are answered!!

The tax disc holder is probably also the aerial for a mobile phone hands-free kit. I have one and it works fine and operates just as good as an unsightly external one.

Thanks to you both.

Both answers seem logical and I have got a hands free kit installed (just need the right phone  )

Thanks for your help.

Bones,

I guess car is pre-facelift model which will be 110.

2000 Facelifts carry Pumpe Duse 115 engine with 6 speed box.

I had trouble fitting my flaps, asked a dealer in the end to do them when having my air-con fixed.

As far as power is concerned all the pull will be between 2000-3000 RPM.
