Gazbam71 Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 I have a 52 plate TDI auto. When I bought it some idiot had replaced the vacuum pipe in a flexible hose. This resulted in an endless search into why it kept going in limp mode. The pipe was replaced as was the maf sensor and power control valve. All is great except at a steady 30 mph . It has a bit of a stutter. It also poorly towed a 2 berth caravan up hill at weekend. Great on the flat though.Has anyone any ideas? Thanks. Quote
BrianH Posted January 22, 2018 Report Posted January 22, 2018 One pipe that can split and not easily be noticed is the one running to the brake servo - this can leak quite badly without noticing the lack of assistance on the brakes, so if you haven't already checked it that is worth looking at. The injector harness can be problematic on some of the diesels, not sure if yours is one without looking, but this usually logs codes in VCDS so that may be worth a look if you have a lead? Quote
Gazbam71 Posted January 24, 2018 Author Report Posted January 24, 2018 Thanks, the brake servo pipe was the one that caused all the initial problem . Soon as it hit 2000 rpm it went into limp mode. This was replaced and it's run great since apart from this judder at 30. It will accelerate and run great at anything above it. I will get the injector harness checked. Thanks. Quote

Gazbam71 Posted January 24, 2018 Author Report Posted January 24, 2018 The servo pipe was replaced. This was the initial problem that every time it went above 2000 rpm it went into limp mode. It's now just at 30mph it has a judder. Anything above it and it's no problem. It will quite easily do 80 all day and return a good mpg. I'll get the injector harness checked. Thanks. Quote
Gazbam71 Posted January 29, 2018 Author Report Posted January 29, 2018 It went on the vagcom at weekend and it read power boost control . The valve was replaced about 4 months ago with an N75 from euro parts. I'm wondering if I got a duff part as it wouldn't be the first time I got something from there that wasn't up to the job. All the actuator and turbo is working fine and had the egr cleaned. All the pipes seem to be ok. Quote
sparky Paul Posted February 8, 2018 Report Posted February 8, 2018 I would have a search for the injector loom threads, I'm not sure if that can through up some spurious fault codes. Quote
