Lewis skeggs Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 Hello, new to the group, I own a ford galaxy 53 plate which is not locking by the remote buttons or the key, all doors can be locked/unlocked via the boot but when I try to lock the car via drivers door with the key nothing happens, it doesn't feel like there's any tension in the barrel, also I've tried recoding the key to the car but when I try to turn the key 3 times in the lock to activate the sensor on the door there's no pressure on turning if that makes sense, has anyone else had this problem, Many thanks Quote
gregers Posted December 31, 2017 Report Posted December 31, 2017 welcome to the forum, have a look through the faqs in the technical section of the forum, there should be info etc, sounds like the paddle has gone on the lock itself. Quote

You might be able to use the passenger lock if you have one to get it to allow you to program the key, not sure? The handles on both doors with locks are actually the same, so you can swap them over to get round it, though its a bit of a faff to do so. Alternatively remove the drivers door handle and use a flat screwdriver in the bit the paddle should go into to operate the lock to program the key. Though if your in there that far you might as well replace the paddle bits. Quote
