Cold Start Problem

Hi Can anybody help please, I have a Galaxy III 2010 2.0 TDCi, and i have a problem when i fist start the car in the mornings after pressing the start button the car turns over and eventully starts, after the first start it does not happen for the rest of the day, I can start it as many as you like after the first and it wont happen. whats happening and what can i do to fix it please.

wondering if theres a problem with the glowplugs?

 

now its getting cold iirc you should start seeing the glowplug light on the dash light up?

but saying that i never ever saw it on my smax.

Glow plugs may be a problem but it can be influenced by mileage and lots of short runs. Not the same but my wife's Xsara Picasso is much the same and a new battery and glow plugs effected only a slight improvement. 

 

You could just put up with it and wait for warmer weather then give it a long run. Alternatively, I have found that a short turnover followed by another a couple of seconds later helps with the old Picasso.
