oshtosh Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 Car is '08 2.3 Ghia petrol. This is the first Ford that I have owned so not used to the quirks or problems and their solutions yet. Front passenger window behaves very strangely. Down works fine, both auto and manual. However, when the window is lowered fully in Auto, then it will not go up properly in any method. Upon activation to go up it will move about a third of the distance and immediately go down fully. This has to be repeated at least 3 times until the window can be fully closed. As mentioned, this only happens when window is lowered on Auto.I initially thought that the door control module was faulty and have since tried two others but the fault persists. A second issue I have is the rear left window. When I purchased the car, the window would only function in safety mode. I since worked out how to "learn in" the window to get it functioning normally, however, if I open the windows with global opening, it reverts back to safety mode again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Quote
BrianH Posted October 19, 2017 Report Posted October 19, 2017 If its returning down its detecting an overload (designed this way to avoid chopping bits off of kids sticking out the window etc). I'd suspect its either sticking in the runners or theres some sort of fault with the motor. It might be worth running some WD40 down the runners at either edge to try and lighten the load a bit?
