Cambelt Change

Purchased a 2002 Galaxy MKII 1.9 TDI Zetec  last year - it came with old receipts for work carried out - the cambelt had been changed together with the water pump and alternator belt at 92299 in May 2014 - mileage is currently 130000 - when does the cambelt need changing again? There seems to be conflicting figures between 40k and 60k - any help appreciated

As far as I know, and I'm no expert on the diesels, original fitted belt kits on early cars were only good for 40,000 miles. Later cars, and the new belt/idler kits retro-fitted are good for 60,000 miles.

yeah this argument has come up numerous times,i dont think we ever got to the bottom of it.iirc even members phoned up the stealers and got conflicting advice.i do seem to remember there are lots of info on the subject if you want to read up on it on the forum.
