paulfoel Posted September 25, 2017 Report Posted September 25, 2017 Managed to drop the mainbeam bulb retaining clip inside the unit and it wont come out - its stuck. Any ideas where I can buy a replacement? Or is it possible to get the glass off - I tried and can't. Also, managed to snap off one of the brackets holding the unit in place so now its only held my one screw. Bad idea - not ideal. New unit, even 2nd hand is not cheap :-( Quote

gregers Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 have you tried tying a small magnet to some string and trying to hook it? Quote
BrianH Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 have you tried tying a small magnet to some string and trying to hook it? Or alternatively something like thishttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Sivitec-323423-24-Inch-Flexible-Lifting/dp/B00439FN06 Quote
paulfoel Posted October 27, 2017 Author Report Posted October 27, 2017 Tried magnet but might try gregers suggestion? Failing that I've tried to get the glass/lens off but its not so easy? Does it even come off? Quote
gregers Posted October 27, 2017 Report Posted October 27, 2017 iirc dont go there, lol.think you have to heat the whole light up? if you cant hook it out, then remove the whole unit and give it a bloody good shake. Quote
sparky Paul Posted October 28, 2017 Report Posted October 28, 2017 No, the mk.1 lights come apart nicely, but the plastic mk.2 lights are bonded together. As greger says, you'll have to take it off the car and give it some jiggle. Quote
gregers Posted October 29, 2017 Report Posted October 29, 2017 ah ha,i knew 1 version was a royal P.I.A to do. Quote
