Crispy creme Posted September 14, 2017 Report Posted September 14, 2017 Ive had a new battery fitted (RAC) Aand a new alternator (halfords) on my 2009 ford galaxy. Im still getting my battery light coming on 15-20 secs after startup every so often. It seems that its falling into 'default/safety mode' when this happens, as it is still charging, just at 13.7 volts. Ive read about a broken wire on the alternator harness that can cause a similar fault. Has anyone any experience with this? Quote
Crispy creme Posted September 14, 2017 Author Report Posted September 14, 2017 Is this thing on? Quote
BrianH Posted September 14, 2017 Report Posted September 14, 2017 Is this thing on?2009 model would be a mk3 you might get better luck in that section of the forum. I think there may be a pulley that can cause issues like this, but you really need someone who has a mk3 to help - your post will have been missed by most of the people who might be able to help you. Crispy creme Posted September 15, 2017 Author Report Posted September 15, 2017 Thanks for that! Thought it was an mk2 for some reason. Quote
BrianH Posted September 15, 2017 Report Posted September 15, 2017 the mk2 and mk3 get confused by everyone - not helped by the 2006 VW Sharan/Seat Alhambrara being very similar to the ones before, whilst the Ford Galaxy from then onwards is a completely different vehicle. Quote
Crispy creme Posted September 16, 2017 Author Report Posted September 16, 2017 No bites yet on the mk3 forum. Quote
