Hi all, 12 plate Diesel automatic

 

I just had the DPF replaced and since then the car has been blowing masses of blue smoke out of the back especially on teh motorway, the cabin also stinks of emissions, are the 2 related?

You might have found what your original dpf died from - sounds like the engine is managing to burn its own engine oil. Does the level drop?

 

You have a mk3 btw so post is in wrong section, hopefully someone can shift it to the correct section as you might get more answers there.

Thanks Brian really appreciated it does sound like thats the problem, hoever before the DPF failed there was no evidence nor smoke. if it is is it serious?
