darrenwarner Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 Hi my mk2 galaxy tdi 1.9 has poor acceleration from stationery and loses power when going up a hill any ideas Quote
BrianH Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 could be many things - you can unplug the maf as a starting point and see if its any better. If you have access to vcds (if not a lead can be had off ebay for a few pounds and the software is free) then you could do a scan to see if any faults are shown. Quote

For anyone to advise more you need to provide a bit more detail (obviously its a Diesel of some sort, but the year might help somewhat) Quote
Graham68 Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Thanks for the help its a 2007 is that a mk2 or mk3 manual there is no top end power it takes ages ti get to 70mph and if you hit a hill then forget it drops right down to about 50mph Quote
BrianH Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 probably mk3 - can you completely remove the rear seats from the car leaving a flat floor? if so its a mk2, if not its a mk3 Quote

BrianH Posted September 11, 2017 Report Posted September 11, 2017 Hi no they fold into the floor its got the newer look to it does that come up as the mk3 thenYes thats a mk3 - the mk2 vs the mk3 is a completely different car (designed by Ford alone with a Ford engine etc in the mk3, the mk2 was mostly VW based in the diesel versions) Quote
papyrus Posted September 23, 2019 Report Posted September 23, 2019 Hi, I had a similar problem with my 06 mk2 and after reading member's advice decided to clean the MAF. When I looked under the bonnet I noticed that the garage ( Ford dealer) which serviced my car two months ago hadn't reconnected the air filter main hose to the engine. Basic stuff I know, but worth a check. Car now working as it should. Thanks for member's help finding the problem. Quote
