Guest michaelc Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Hello Everyone, I heard a rumour the other day that the Galaxy prefers reinforced tyres as it is almost as big as a Humvee :D Just bought some 16" original Galaxy Alloys to go on my nice new shiny Humvee...........er sorry my Galaxy, anybody any ideas? I can see the logic behind the statement as the Galaxy is more Van than Car, however, I thought I would open this one up to everybody here to see if you could shed any light on it for me? Also, some time soon I am going to try to save myself at least 1 hour going to and from work as I have to go through the Tyne Tunnel. Now there is an HGV and a Van lane that I use when in my company van that saves me at least 1 hour every day from beeing stuck in que's, so I am going to fly down the van lane in my Galaxy, and across into the inspection area(those of you who know the tyne tunnel will know what i mean) and hopefully get waved through as a small van  ??? Anybody ever done this and got away with it? Looking forward to hearing from you :o Michael Quote
Galaxy_Pilot Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 The galaxy is definatly not classed as a van, it is a "Private light vehicle" class vehicle, you would not get away using the lane in the tunnel as you would need to remove all your rear seats and have company logo on sides of car to prove its "van" status and tax disk would need to verify as" Private light vehicle". I am willing to be proved wrong on this, but would have to say if I was sitting in a que of traffic in the tunnel and you whizzed by in your galaxy, I would be pretty well Pi**ed off. Hope this helps!! Quote
