Andymanuk Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Hi thereJust bought a 2002 Galaxy.I think I'm having Turbo problems, went into limp mode on the motorway, plus slight whining noise. Before I take it to a garage to get it checked out, I noticed this missing/broken hose.It is underneath the engine, picture is taken from above looking down at the front. The second picture is where the hose is going to.Does anyone know what this is, and could it be related to my possible turbo problem?btw I had a quote for £1000 to replace the turbo, filters etc. Many thanks for your help.Andy Quote
BrianH Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Looks to me like an air conditioning hose - Does your Aircon actually work? Appearance looks like a power steering hose, but its too clean to be that, and if it was broken you'd know that wasn't working already? Quote
BrianH Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Might also help to show where the other end of it ends up - looks to me like it heads to the radiator area, so its likely connected to the condensor for the Air con. Your photo is too close for me to tell. Either way if its air con then thats not your turbo problem. There is a common hose to fracture on the diesel varients, I'd suspect the one your have broken is that hose as far as i can tell. Quote
Andymanuk Posted June 27, 2017 Author Report Posted June 27, 2017 HI BrianThanks for your reply. You are quite possibly correct. The Air con is not working either.I will investigate further.CheersAndy Quote

The Air con is not working either.I will investigate further.CheersAndyWhat i'd suggest to find out why its going into limp mode is to get hold of a vcds lite cable (ebay should find you one for less than an tenner, Vag com cable is the same thing) and a laptop. Use the free version of VCDS from ross tech and see what codes it throws up, then search on here for the codes. With any luck you will have something to work with then. Quote
richyrich Posted June 29, 2017 Report Posted June 29, 2017 It's definitely the air con hose - mine broke in exact same place.Rich Quote
