davethecabbie Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 during this last couple of days i have had the air con on a fair bit.it is working fine at the front but the air is not as cold in the luggage compartment when using the roof controls.does it run off the same system, and is this normal Quote
MrT Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 It depends on the type of air condition system you have. If you have roof inlet vents in the rear, you have a dual system and these will produce different temperature air depending on the requirements. If you don't have roof vents in the rear you will have less powerful airconditioning the rear area. The air conditioning is designed to be more powerful in the front as is has to cool the area heated through the windscreen in strong sunlight, which is why there is a sunlight sensor behind the centre dash clock on the facelifted versions. Also check the vents at the floor in the very rear left hand side, there are the air intakes for the rear airconditioning and if blocked with luggage can reduce its effectiveness. Quote
suzuki91 Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 try setting the front air con to blow air to your feet, then the cold air gets blown to the rear of the car. Quote
Guest fredt Posted August 8, 2004 Report Posted August 8, 2004 when using the roof controls.does it run off the same system, and is this normal That gives it away a bit, as stated by the others, if you have roof controls then you dont have rear AC  o I find its best to blast the cooled air out of the facia vents, use the outer two to cool the front passengers and the center two to blast cooled air to the rear passengers Quote
