Hello noe and all!, have a galaxy 1.9 tdi on a x plate!, have a problem where for some reason out of the blue the radio/cd player will turn off and stay off ofr 30 seconds and then turn itself back on??, there is no pattern to it and sometimes it'll do it 2 or 3 times in a row before it stays on?, is this a regular occurance in the galaxy range or do I have a small electrical fault??

Welcome. Seems like an obscure fault, not come across anything like that before. Can you take the unit out and check that all the connectors are properly engaged? Does it do it on both radio and CD?

Check the removable key pad is making a good conection and is fully locked, not had exactly the same problem but have had the radio go off on its own and its normaly because ive gone over a bump and brocken the kep pad connection.

The removeable keypad is in it's location properly!, have never taken it out to be honest!, and it occurs on either radio or cd!!, irrelevent of whether I'm going over a pump or not!!!, obviously an intermittant fault will have to dig a little deeper I feel!!!,

Thanks for the replies!!

Could still be the face......take it out and clean the connectors with an electrical

rubber (or very fine sand paper) and see how you go.

If its not this I would take the unit out...unplug everything...re-plug it back in

then try again...if it still does it the chances are it will be a fauly supply (broken wire or the likes) or a fault with the actual head unit...
