Pepper Red Posted April 25, 2017 Report Posted April 25, 2017 Hi Guys Can any one verify if the wheel bolts on the Galaxy Ghia 2003 are the same for the original alloys and steel wheels ?I want to take the alloy's off to refurbish them myself and put steels on so the cars not off the road Thanks Quote
BrianH Posted April 26, 2017 Report Posted April 26, 2017 No. The alloy ones have a large bit on the base like a washer, the steel ones are a solid single piece. I believe the seat radius is the same on both? Quote
Pepper Red Posted April 27, 2017 Author Report Posted April 27, 2017 Many thanks for this, and you are right regarding the spare being a steel Quote
sparky Paul Posted April 27, 2017 Report Posted April 27, 2017 Yes, the captive washer bolts are fine to use with either wheel. Incidentally, AFAIK early cars all had solid bolts. My mark 1 car has had alloys and solid bolts from new, so I don't think it would matter much the other way either. Put it this way... I haven't had a wheel fall off in 14 years. Quote
