Dead Locks

Help please, mate has mkIi, his dead locks have kicked in (faulty locks) on front doors, how does he get dead locks off please?

I had this on a rear door when a locking motor failed, it can be a real pain to sort out. I had to remove the door card and partially dismantle the lock mechanism from inside to manually actuate the locking mechanism.

 

The rear ones are a work of art to access, I don't know how hard it is to get into the front door locks.
