Hi, I am wondering if you can help. I need to remove the front passenger seat on my mk3 ford galaxy as my child has been ill so need to deep clean the area under and around seat.

The vehicle is fitted with side airbags in the seat, do I need to have this deactivated professionally before removing the seat or can I just unclip the wires under seat or disconnect the battery to make sure airbag does not deploy.

I have phoned my local ford main dealer who told me to clean around it and use an air freshener (very helpful) I was hoping someone would be more helpful in telling me how I can solve this so as to fully remove the seat.

Any advice gratefully appreciated

Debbie

If you haven't already solved this...

Disconnect the battery.

Then you can disconnect the connectors to the seat.

The airbags won't deploy without an electrical supply (which you would have upon impact when driving).

if you go down the route advised above it might be advisable to wait a little time before unplugging the connectors, just in case anything holds a memory/current??.
