Hi all,

I discovered an oil leak under my MK3 Galaxy 2008 2.2TDCI recently and so had the leak investigated by my local independent garage.

To my shock they explained to me that lots of oil is leaking from the turbo and that the turbo needs replacing.

The turbo has been running fine, no smoke, no boost or power issues, no noise or rattling.

The car has covered 150'000 and to my knowledge the turbo is the original.

Do I need a new turbo?

Could the leak be fixed considering the turbo is operating perfectly fine except the oil leak.

I have been quoted £1100 for the work to be carried out.

£600 for the turbo and the rest was labour and VAT.

What would you do?

Any help or advice on this dilemma would be much appreciated.

Cheers
