MRVR6 Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 HI, CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHY MY FORD GALAXY VR6 2004 STARTS UP BUT THEN SOMETIMES STOPS STRAIGHT AWAY, COULD IT BE A BLOCKED AIR IN TAKE, OR VACUUM LEAK, CAN ANYBODY HELP? Quote
BrianH Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 Clogged idle control valve a possibility. May help to clean it. Please fix your caps lock key while your there! Quote
MRVR6 Posted March 12, 2017 Author Report Posted March 12, 2017 thanks, do you know where that valve is? or what its next to? Quote
BrianH Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 Somewhere on the inlet mainfold near to the throttle body. I don't have the v6 so can't tell you more than that offhand, but you should be able to trace it (it will have wires onto it) Quote
Zipi Posted March 22, 2017 Report Posted March 22, 2017 Also faulty MAF sensor will cause such effect. Car will start, but very soon after the start ECU tries to read values from MAF and if that is not possible or gives erratic value the engine will make a hard stop. Idle control valve issue would probably end up with softer stop and the stop could be prevented by a small press of the accelerator pedal. Quote
