swembley Posted February 28, 2017 Report Posted February 28, 2017 We'd like some advice on our next car purchase please. It is time to buy a new family car and we want one that will fit one adult and two car seats in the 2nd row, and leave us with a good amount of boot space for holidays We seem to have narrowed our choice down to a Ford Galaxy or a Zafira Tourer. (We have dismissed the S-max for lack of head height, the Sharon for price and most others for lack of seat room....) I was ideally thiking of spending around £7k but this is looking unlikely so we could go up to £10k or £11k. We are set on a manual gearbox and I would prefer petrol, mainly for it being less polluting but we understand this may not be possible. We could get something like the Ford Galaxy 1.6 EcoBoost Zetec 2011 with 29,000 miles on the clock for £9.5k. Is that a good bet? I worry that 1.6 is not going to pull such a big machine. Should we aim for a newer car with more miles? We really want reliability and not excessive running costs. So I undersand we need a good service history. Thanks for any suggestions ;o) Quote
sparky Paul Posted March 13, 2017 Report Posted March 13, 2017 You might have better luck asking in the mk.3 section, perhaps a mod will move your post over there. Quote
