Guest BDM2510 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Can anyone inform if it is possible to buy a standard head unit single din ie. sony, pioneeer, alpine etc. that has the provision to link a standard ford stalk control wiring cable. Alternatively is there an adapter required from stereo to steering wheel stalk? Any ideas or feedback welcome. Quote
Guest daddycool Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 I looked into this and from what i found out you can buy conecter lead made by autoleads. The lead incorperates the conections for the power aerial and for the remote stalk. However not all the functions may be available on your aftermarket head unit via the stalk. This information was provided to me from a reputable car audio shop. cheersMark Quote
Marky Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Have a look here for all in car audio adapters..... www.autoleads.co.uk I think you can buy direct but Halfords also stock them as do mostcar audio stores..... Good luck.... Mark Quote
Guest BDM2510 Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 I e-mail technical at autoleads.co.uk. Unfortunatley their technical say that they do not supply a Ford adapter for the stalk control. Quote
Guest lesmon Posted September 16, 2004 Report Posted September 16, 2004 according to this the autoleads work with the ford galaxy 07/00 onwards (Am I correct inassuming these are galaxies with the steering wheel controls as opposed to the stalk?) Gal stalk control to PioneerAs you can tell I have a pioneer head unit installed. My question: does anyone know if the steering wheel control and the stalk control have the same interface - so that the above adaptor will work? rgdsLes Quote
MrT Posted September 17, 2004 Report Posted September 17, 2004 If you don't have a fitted stalk or multifunction wheel, does the wiring harness have the wires and plugs for the stalk and radio as standard? They are not immediately obvious behind the radio if they are there, there is just the half yellow plug with the purple (speed/volume) sense wire. Quote
Masked Marauder Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 You will need to take the top half off the steering column shroud. Any spare leads & plugs for cruise control or remote are clipped into a retainer on the left hand side. As for connection interfaces, I know for a fact (because I have fitted one) that Blaupunkt do one for the Sharan/Alhambra/Galaxy but obviously that will only work with their units. Quote
Guest lesmon Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Question re-phrase:Anyone knows the difference in the pin-outs between the pre-2000 and the post 2000 Gal models with stalk/steering controls?PIcs of each type may help with the wire colours - or just plain old wiring diagrams. Since I have pre-2000 Gal, I am really interested in the Post-2k ones. Masked-Maurader (sounds like someone from WWF): Do you have any details of the adaptor lead you used on your vehicle - and what year is the vehicle. Quote
galaxychap Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 i also have a 1995 galaxy ghia with steering wheel stalk i know i can get adaptor leads for it but only from 2000 on so am now trying to find out if thestalk from a 2000 model yr will fit mine, my head unit is a pioneer deh-p7600mp if that stalk fits then i can get the adaptor lead and alls well.
