Rtomadini Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Hi guys, i hope you had a good christmas and new year, but now let's get down to the serious stuff. So i am the proud owner of2009 Ford Galaxy Powershift TDCIThe Engine Malfunction warning came on one day and the car just went flat.I have cleaned the intake which was full of gunk, checked the egr which has a cap and i have cleaned the dpf but not alot came out and it looked clean anyway. No luck the warning still comes after driving for a few minutes and the car goes flat.I must add that on ocasions i also get the transmission service requiered message and the car goes in limp mode and gets stuck in 3rd, after i take the battery terminal off for a few mins the gearbox issue goes away until next morning.i have done a video last night to demo the issue.if you guys have any idea of which sensor i should change, i am open to sugestions.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hf6Uy7UDHQY Quote
BrianH Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 First step is to get the codes read - an off the shelf obd code reader should work for this, can be picked up cheaper than running into the dealers. You may need some guidance on what to do with what error its detecting, but if the engine light is coming on whilst driving there will be a fault causing it (could be something simple once you know what part is giving the fault it should be easier for someone to point you in the right direction. gregers Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 as above but also iirc there are cables under the seat?maybe some have been knocked?how long are you leaving the battery off for?as iirc the alarm module has its own little battery within itself.so maybe leave battery off over night?then see what happens when its reattached. Rtomadini Posted January 21, 2017 Author Report Posted January 21, 2017 Sorry for the late update but... life got in the wayI got myself an obd dongle and it gives me the p2263 fault, which is a wacky generic one. I have changet the intake air temp sensor because it looked bad, but it still gives me the same fault. Any suggestions on my next move? Quote
gregers Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 what does the on board diagnostic give you,i used to get a weird 1 on my smax. Quote
Rtomadini Posted January 22, 2017 Author Report Posted January 22, 2017 I only get the p2263 fault code and that's it... with the obvious engine malfunction message and Eml. On tuesday i'll do a oil change and also i'll change the diesel filter, see what is what. Does anyone know how to test the blow off valve? Or at least where it is located? Quote
