2002 1.9 Tdi Non Starter

My galaxy has had a few problems with starting, firstly it would take two or three turns of the key to get it to start, replaced the crankshaft sensor as per recommended, was ok for a while, then it started again within a month gradually getting worse, and causing battery to drain - replaced battery as it was goosed, but problem remained, now new battery (1/2 months old) is going flat as I try to crank it - any ideas? Im at end of tether

Is the door LED flashing rapidly when it fails to start? (on drivers door). If so it may be worth trying relay 109?
