Galaxy Mkiii Tailgate Door Wont Open

My 2007 Galaxy Ghia TDC Tailgate door would not open. You could hear it clicking but wouldn't open. I contacted Ford they said they would need a tech to connect up and find the fault at a cost of £70 +Vat. I left it till I could find cash but after about a month I climbed into the back through the passenger door and sprayed the latch inside with DD40. Two hours later my wife went to use the car and saw on the dashboard a sign saying the boot door was open. Don't get ripped of by Ford's get use the spray apparently it is a common fault but Ford techs pretend it's something new to get your hard earned cash. Me I am bluebadge so I really saved.

do you not have a boot button on your remote?

i had this with my smax turned out to be broken wires in the left hand side of hatch,so switch wouldnt work but it would from the remote.
