Dr Pete Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 I've got a Galaxy Mk 2 with a Central Locking problem. This is a little intermittent but I can go for a long time when it either works or doesn't work. Currently, having just got it back from the Garage, it doesn't lock either electronically or manually although it does lock momentarily when using the Key but unlocks itself within about 10 seconds. I've checked that all the other doors are shut and locked and they are. Currently I can neither lock the Drivers door nor unlock the other doors using the Key. Any help would be welcome. Quote
daddyfixit Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 wires in drivers door will have snapped/shorted out; allow yourself half a day if you have not done them before see the tech guides on here to see how to repair them----soldering iron, heatshrink tubing and some wire to splice into the breaks. BrianH Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 I found pulling fuse 19 on my mk1 would allow manual locking of the doors in the short term (it cuts the power to the central locking, but also a couple of other things like the instrument panel were affected). Not sure which fuse would supply the mk2 but might prove a workaround till you can actually look at it. May not be the drivers door alone, could have problems with any door including the boot, but start at the drivers door first. Quote
