Tdi Wont Start Straight Away Uphill But Will Down Hill

hi my 2002 tdi in the morning parked slightly down hill will start first time face it up hill and you have to keep turning it over until the fuel gets in and fires my question is does it have a non return valve anywhere thats not working or could it be something else

An air leak somewhere on the diesel supply is likly to be your issue, have a look around the fuel filter make sure everything is tightened up properly

or the in-tank pump is faulty/weak ?

 

is it since you changed a diesel filter ??

On top of the fuel filter is a fuel control valve which has a pipe in and a pipe out, held in with a spring clip. Try that!
