jkspoff Posted July 24, 2004 Report Posted July 24, 2004 The steering wheel, although it looks nice with the silver bits, creaks when manoevering, has anyone discovered a way of getting into it, i.e. the circular section and somehow oiling it or something ?? Its the 2001 models onwards that have this type of wheel. Quote
Dally Posted July 25, 2004 Report Posted July 25, 2004 My Steering wheel started to creek but this was resolved by Motors Coalville Ford dealers - Don't know how though!! Quote
Guest chrisH Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 It could be the clockspring. This requires greasing when a new one is installed, it maybe that yours has worn the grease away in a certain area!!! Oh,and by the way, the Haynes book says its a special type of grease to use but when i asked the Fraud garage they told me they use just a general use grease.! Just makes you wonder what else isnt done correctly. Most things from past experience. Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Are you sure it isn't the wheel fouling on the steering column shrouds? A couple of minutes work with a suitable file could sort it if it's this  Quote
