marinabrid Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 Anyone had a replacement front screen and noticed the heating defrosting doesn't seem as fast or efficient as the original ford quick clear version had new screen last April, had 1st frosts now , so went to test, seemed much slower and took much longer to clear.National windscreens said they were all made by the same companies and just put a ford logo on but because of the cost Tesco insurance wouldn't pay, Quote
gregers Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 ive seen this in other forums, yes most if not all screen replacement firms wont fit original screen because of the cost involved???hence why it takes longer, count yourself lucky mine dont work on the smax, last year started doing the dreaded bar code, then nowt. xavier Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 I got a new screen on my 02 Focus, it's OK compared to the original but there's a band down the middle that doesn't clear as quick as the other areas. Given the car isn't worth much more than the windscreen I was just happy they replaced it rather than writing the car off! Quote
xavier Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 > but because of the cost Tesco insurance wouldn't pay Marina, what do you mean by this, did they refuse to pay for the windscreen and you had to pay for it yourself? Quote
marinabrid Posted November 23, 2015 Author Report Posted November 23, 2015 sorry mis quoted there,, National windscreens who Tesco use said that Tesco won't pay for original screens, al i paid was the £75 excess Quote
