Auto Gear Problem

Hi people.

 

After sorting out the Galaxy with a starting problem. It's now started to develop a bigger problem.

When driving 70% of the time when pulling off it doesn't engage in 1st gear and just revs, it does this for around 3-5 seconds and when driving along it seems to change up and down at wrong times.

This is the first automatic I've owned bought this for my wife to drive when she passes, I'm used to driving my transit all the time :)

 

It's a 1.9 deisel auto "55"

sounds like the fluid is the cause - either theres not enough of it left in the box, or its in a poor state and needs changing. Theres info in the faq section on checking fluid level i'd start there and see what you find (if the fluid smells burnt or started to become thicker than it should be then you may get away with just changing it).
