Russats Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Any hints or tips for carrying out this task? Should the belt be replaced at the same time? I assume I will need to have all the gas in the system removed? Quote
gregers Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 yes gas should be removed 1st.inspect the belt to see if it looks worn, belt is fairly cheap so may be worth while changing it as your thre? Quote
Russats Posted July 19, 2015 Author Report Posted July 19, 2015 Today and yesterday the Air con has been fine all day. Whereas since regas over a week ago it's been blowing cold for short periods. The regas man suggested it could be a sticky valve as it's not been used in so long. Might not need to change it.... see how it goes. Thanks for the advise though Quote
stedo11 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 HiI replaced my air con compressor a few weeks ago, had it filled and had nothing but problems - blowing hot one minute then cold the next, the car even started surging and driving really strange. Rang the company I bought the compressor from asking if they had any problems with these pumps, but obviously there wasn't any.Anyway the lad that does the regas for me sussedthe problem. Because my car has dual heating, the pump takes more gas. (750) a standard compressor takes less gas (600).So he drained the gas down and it's been fine since, except the heating in the back doesn't blow cold, and the company insist it's the correct pump Quote
Russats Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 Mine has started working as it should. I only have air con in the front though. Quote

Hope this helps Its not as simple as it having a second heater has more gas - if you have the version with vents in the roof the aircon should work in the back and use the higher figure on the sticker, otherwise it should use the lower one. The one without roof vents does not provide air conditioning via the rear heater/fan, front only. Quote
