jordanmac Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Hi, Just the other day the brake pad warning light came in the car. It's a 2004 1.9tdi Galaxy. I have replaced the pads and disks recently and connected both front near and rear offside sensor cables up (i take it that's normal only having one sensor on the front and back?) and it was running grand, and all pads have still got loads of life left.I noticed the rear cable has snapped off. So i twisted this together and taped it up and assumed the light would go off? But no its still on. Has anyone got any ideas? Cheers Jordan Quote
bigdave982 Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Pretty sure by taping wires together you have created the circuit so light is now onId try taping bare wires separatly Quote
jordanmac Posted July 15, 2015 Author Report Posted July 15, 2015 I thought there was a circuit going through the pad and when the pad wore low it broke the thin wire breaking the circuit and putting the warning light on. Hence twisting them together? Before i twisted them they were not touching and the light was still still on. Quote
Russats Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Mine only has the wire on the near side, shouldn't have one each side should it? Quote
Russats Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Sorry misread what you'd written 1 for each front and back Quote
